I'm Austin Place, founder of Beacon Insurance Agency here in Edmond.

I started Beacon because I was with a big company for several years and every interaction felt transactional. The focus was more on the number of products and premium rather than genuine care for the customer. When my previous agent would constantly be pushing us to “find more insurance products” to sell to customers, I knew there had to be a better way.

That experience shaped how I run this agency. I believe insurance isn't just about policies and premiums — it's about protecting you and things you've worked hard for, so you can focus on living your life instead of worrying about what-ifs. That's where our name comes from: a beacon is meant to guide you safely home. And it's the heart of our tagline, Where Protection Meets Purpose. We aim to honor Jesus Christ as our primary purpose. The bible has many verses regarding being a servant to others, but my favorite is Matthew 20:28, “even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” We strive to have a servant heart for all in our community. Not only does our beaconing light shine through the murky waters of insurance, more so, our service would reveal Christ’s light as the Light of the World.

As an independent agency, I'm not tied to one insurance company — which means I get to shop around and find coverage that actually fits your life, not just a one-size-fits-all policy. Whether you're insuring your first home, your growing business, or your family's future, my goal is the same: to be someone you can trust and actually reach when it matters.
